  1.Submerged installation: The lead wire of the equipment is passed through    

the waterproof pipe, and the 3/4 thread on the top of the equipment is connected

with the 3/4 thread of the waterproof pipe with raw material tape.Make sure that

the top of the equipment and the equipment lines are free of water.

Common knowledge of   NH4+   Ion

 

How is NH ₄⁺ ion composed? What are the chemical properties? ​

NH ₄⁺ (ammonium ion) is formed by a cluster of one nitrogen atom and four hydrogen atoms, carrying one positive charge. It will 'release acidity' in water - after reacting with water molecules, it releases hydrogen ions, making the solution acidic. For example, when ammonium chloride dissolves in water, the water becomes acidic, which is also the reason why ammonium nitrogen fertilizers may cause soil acidification.

 

Where are NH ₄⁺ ions commonly found in daily life? ​

NH ₄⁺ is very common in nature and production:

Agriculture: Ammonium bicarbonate, ammonium sulfate and other ammonium nitrogen fertilizers contain it, which can supplement nitrogen for plants. However, it is easy to turn into ammonia gas and escape at high temperatures, so attention should be paid when fertilizing; ​

Water environment: NH ₄⁺ in domestic sewage and industrial wastewater is a key monitoring object (called "ammonia nitrogen"). If the concentration is too high, it will consume oxygen in the water and kill fish and shrimp; ​

Nitrogen cycle: NH ₄⁺ in soil can be "processed" by microorganisms into nitrite and nitrate, which can be absorbed by plants as nutrients. ​

 

How to detect the presence of NH ₄⁺ ions in water? ​

There are two simple detection methods:

Alkali heating method: Add strong alkali such as sodium hydroxide to the water sample and heat it again. If there is NH ₄⁺, pungent ammonia gas will be released. Use a moist red litmus paper to approach it, and if the paper turns blue, it indicates its presence; ​

Reagent colorimetric method: Nessler's reagent (containing potassium mercuric iodide) is commonly used in the laboratory. It reacts with NH ₄⁺ to produce a yellow brown substance. The darker the color, the higher the concentration of NH ₄⁺.

 

What are the hazards of high NH ₄⁺ ion concentration? ​

NH ₄⁺ "exceeding the standard" will bring two major problems:

Water pollution: Too much NH ₄⁺ in natural water bodies can cause algal blooms (such as "algal blooms"), consume dissolved oxygen, and lead to oxygen deprivation and death of fish; ​

Soil problem: Long term use of ammonium nitrogen fertilizer can cause the repeated release of hydrogen ions from NH ₄ in the soil, leading to soil acidification and compaction, which can affect crop growth.
