How is NH ₄⁺ ion composed? What are the chemical properties?
NH ₄⁺ (ammonium ion) is formed by a cluster of one nitrogen atom and four hydrogen atoms, carrying one positive charge. There are two simple detection methods:

Reagent colorimetric method: Nessler's reagent (containing potassium mercuric iodide) is commonly used in the laboratory. It reacts with NH ₄⁺ to produce a yellow brown substance. The darker the color, the higher the concentration of NH ₄⁺.
